Weekly Watch Focus: Mexico
FRIDAY, February 24, 2012. Pray for Mexico, our neighbor. The U.S. State Department has just urged Americans to avoid traveling to 14 of Mexico’s 31 states due to drug-related violence that has resulted in 47,000 deaths since 2006. Drug cartels have become a major factor in this region causing rampant drug related violence that is overwhelming law enforcement and the military's ability to cope. This violence has begun to spread across the border into the U.S. Pray that the shalom of God will come afresh over this land. May the military and law enforcement have victory over these drug cartels and restore peace, law and justice throughout the land. May Mexico experience a Holy Spirit outpouring of revival resulting in full restoration. May the U.S. continue to have wisdom and grace and be an instrument of blessing and strength to our neighbor.
Lev. 26:6, “I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none will make you afraid; I will rid the land of evil beasts, and the sword will not go through your land.”
Jer. 33:6, “Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.”
Ps. 107:1-3, “Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy, and gathered out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.”
Num 6:24 – 26, “The LORD bless you and keep you; The LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.”
