Weekly Watch Focus: The Supreme Court & Health Care Mandate

FRIDAY, March 30, 2012. This week, the U.S. Supreme Court opened its historic review of the 2010 health-care law. The court will determine the fate of a measure that may effect how Americans receive medical care for the foreseeable future, requiring every American to purchase insurance coverage. It is the most significant case determining the relationship between government and the governed. Many are concerned that a powerful federal bureaucracy will not only determine and ration the kind of healthcare each American may receive, but limit the individual God-given liberties that are guaranteed by our Constitution.

Pray for all nine of the justices. May they have divine wisdom in adjudicating this historic case. May the Lord who guided our founders help these justices make righteous judgment that will protect the liberties of all Americans now and for future generations.

Ex. 18:21-22 Moreover, look for able men from all the people, men who fear God, who are trustworthy and hate a bribe, and place such men over the people as chiefs of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens. And let them judge the people at all times.

Is. 33:22 For the Lord is our judge; the Lord is our lawgiver; the Lord is our king; he will save us.

Ps. 82:1 God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment.

Dan. 7:9-10 As I looked, thrones were placed, and the Ancient of Days took his seat; his clothing was white as snow,
and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames; its wheels were burning fire. A stream of fire issued and came out from before him; a thousand thousands served him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him; the court sat in judgment, and the books were opened.

Prov. 8:14-16 I have counsel and sound wisdom; I have insight; I have strength. By me kings reign, and rulers decree what is just; by me princes rule, and nobles, all who govern justly.

Deut. 16:18 You shall appoint judges and officers in all your towns that the Lord your God is giving you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment. You shall not pervert justice. You shall not show partiality, and you shall not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the cause of the righteous. Justice, and only justice, you shall follow, that you may live and inherit the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

Prov. 11:1 A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is his delight.

ALSO: Prayer for Israel Borders, Peace, and Security:

Today, protesters are expected to mass on Israel's borders in an attempt to breach Israel's borders and converge on Jerusalem. Pray for Israel's borders to be secure. Bind violence, terrorism, and the spirit of antichrist. Pray for divine wisdom and protection for the IDF and security forces over the weekend.

Ps. 83 (all)
O God, do not keep silence;
do not hold your peace or be still, O God!
2 For behold, your enemies make an uproar;
those who hate you have raised their heads.
3 They lay crafty plans against your people;
they consult together against your treasured ones.
4 They say, “Come, let us wipe them out as a nation;
let the name of Israel be remembered no more!”...
Let them be put to shame and dismayed forever;
let them perish in disgrace,
18 that they may know that you alone,
whose name is the Lord,
are the Most High over all the earth.
