Weekly Watch Focus: Christ is Risen! Passover Lamb and Easter Triumph

FRIDAY, April 14, 2017—Behold the Lamb! May the risen Christ, radiant in glory, invade our hearts, giving a zeal for the lost, mercy for the poor, and joy in His resurrection. Pray that salvation and deliverance will come to every nation, every tribe, and every language through Jesus, our Passover Lamb. Declare His Lordship over our lives and over our nation. In the authority of the resurrected Christ, bind back the powers of anti-Christ and every spirit of the thief, robber, and destroyer. Confidently proclaim fresh waves of resurrection glory and victory to wash over our nation and the nations with deliverance from every shadow of oppression, depression, infirmities, and generational curses. Continuously praise and thank our risen Savior, Jesus Christ. May He permeate us so that we bring His fragrance everywhere at all times.

Part 2: Pray for Coptic Christians:

Pray for the Coptic Church in Egypt as they deal with the horrible terror attacks in Alexandria and Tante on Palm Sunday. At least 45 people were killed and many more were injured in bomb blasts this last Sunday. Islamic terrorists with ISIS have claimed responsibility for the attacks. Pray for the grieving families and wounded survivors. Pray for the law enforcement, medical, and rescue services responding to this travesty.

Pray for the persecuted church in the Middle East. Christians in the Middle East are under tremendous attack, with ISIS wiping out entire communities that trace their roots back to biblical times. Pray the Lord will expose every plot of terror against these communities. Pray for safety in areas of large public gatherings. We appeal to heaven for the nations to have the will and wisdom to deal with these terrorists at the source. Bind back the spirit of anti-Christ that inspired these attacks. Release the covering of Psalm 91 over these communities.

We also pray for wisdom for President Trump and his administration as he shapes U.S. policy in the Middle East. May the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob extend His shield over Israel and the Church in the region and give our nation guidance to bring His peace to this troubled region. Pray for President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi of Egypt and King Abdullah of Jordan who have shown exceptional tolerance for Christians in their nations. Pray for the innocents caught in the demonic struggle for power among the different factions of Islam and jihadi terrorists.

Ex. 12:3, “Every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household.”

2 Tim. 2:8 (RSV), “Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descended from David, as preached in my gospel.”

Rom. 8:11, “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”

Rev. 1:5-8, “Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, 6 and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. ‘I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,’ says the Lord, ‘who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.’”

Matt 28:1-6, “Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.”

Psalms 91:1-6, “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’ Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.”

Psalms 2:9, “You shall break them with a rod of iron; you shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.”

Ps. 27:2-5, “When the wicked came against me to eat up my flesh, my enemies and foes, they stumbled and fell. Though an army may encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war may rise against me, in this I will be confident. One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple. For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.”
