Weekly Watch Focus: Pray for our Armed Forces and Their Families

FRIDAY, Nov. 29, 2013, We are in a season where our thoughts turn to Christmas and being with our family. Let us remember in prayer members of our armed forces far from home serving in missions in Afghanistan, offering humanitarian aid in the Philippines, and serving our nation at many other posts spread across the world. May the Lord strengthen and comfort these families, and may the God of Angel Armies protect these men and women wherever they are serving. Honor those who gave their all. Pray for those recovering from injuries and traumas. May the Holy Spirit encourage each of them, and may they know that they have a place of honor in our hearts.

Ps. 91:11, “For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.”

Ps. 27:1, “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

Ps. 27:2-5, “When the wicked came against me . . . they stumbled and fell . . . One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple. For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.”

Ps. 91:4, 11, “He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.”

Eph. 6:12, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
