Weekly Watch Focus: Pray for the Church in China

FRIDAY, May 2, 2014, Let us lift up in prayer believers in China. There is a mighty move of the Spirit in this great nation. Few in the West realize that China has become the third largest, Christian country in the world and is on track to become the largest Christian nation by 2025. The ruling communist party is challenged by this surging group. China officially only allows state-sanctioned churches to operate, and does not give Chinese believers the freedoms we take for granted here in America. This week authorities demolished a ten-story mega church in the city of Wenzhou, claiming that it violated local codes. Christians report the reported violations were a pretext to tear down churches. Let us give thanks for the ongoing revival in China. Let us also pray for the pastors and churches multiplying across this great land. Bind the powers of darkness that would try to hinder the spread of the gospel in every province of China.

2 Cor. 3:17, “Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”

Matt. 24:14, "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come."

Habakkuk 2:14, “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.”

Acts 4:29-30 29, “Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.”

Rev. 12:11, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.”

Pray for Regions Devastated by Tornadoes

Pray also for regions devastated by recent violent storms and tornadoes across the South and Midwest. At least 35 people have lost their lives and many more have lost their homes in the past few days. Pray for the families grieving for the loss of their loved ones, and those still searching for missing family members. Pray for all the rescue and emergency responders bringing assistance to this region and providing for the individuals and families deal with the loss, grief, and damage wreaked by this storm. Bind back destruction. May the Lord cover and protect this region under the shadow of His wings in the coming days.

2 Cor. 1:3, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction.”

Ps 23:4, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

Mark 4:39, “And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, ‘Peace! Be still!’ And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.”
