Weekly Watch Focus: Pray for Brazil

Friday, April 15, 2016—Pastors in Brazil are requesting prayers for their nation at a critical time in Brazil’s history. Brazil has had a mighty evangelical revival in recent years, bringing millions to Christ. They have also had a great economic revival that has made it the seventh largest economy in the world. Recently the nation has been hit with corruption scandals that have touched the highest levels of government impacting the economy that is bringing hardship on the whole nation.

Let us pray for this strategic nation and friend of the USA. Pray that the possible changes in Brazil’s government leaders will bring forth godly leadership that will build trust, restore the economy and promote those in government who will honor godly principles and friendship for the nation of Israel. Pray for a wave of fresh outpouring of God’s Spirit on Brazil and a strengthening of His Church.

1 Tim. 2:1-4, “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

2 Chron. 7:14, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

Daniel 2:20-23, “Daniel answered and said: ‘Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him. I thank You and praise You, O God of my fathers; You have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we asked of You, for You have made known to us the king’s demand.’”

Jer. 29:7; Ps. 22:28; Dan. 9:18-19; Ps. 2:10-12

We remember fellow believers who are oppressed and tortured for Christ’s sake. In communist China, Afghanistan, India, Nigeria, and other parts of the word, violent radicals or oppressive communism continue to persecute and even murder Christians.
We thank God and pray for our law enforcement. We ask the Lord for their safety and guidance as the carry out their duties with integrity.
As our children return to school, we cover them in prayer. Whether they attend public school, private school, home school, or college, we pray a special anointing over them.
There is a declaration of war in our culture against the identity of our children. Our foundational values and the preservation of identity for individuals and families through Christ as the building block of society is under attack.
Pray for financial recovery from what many economists are calling a recession. We humbly pray for a healthy economy and that integrity would be restored in leadership.
