Weekly Watch Focus: Crucial Mid-Term Elections
Friday, October 26, 2018—On November 6, the United States will hold crucial elections on the federal, state, and local level. At stake are all four hundred and thirty-five seats in the House of Representatives, thirty-five seats in the U.S. Senate, and thirty-six state governors, in addition to many local government positions. These elections are considered in many ways to be a referendum on whether our nation will embrace the liberties granted by our Constitution and Judeo-Christian foundations or a socialist agenda. As these elections draw closer, many people are stirred up. Bind every act of violence against those running for election. Bind the spirit of witchcraft, anarchy, and chaos that would try to sway the election outcomes. Bind manipulation in the media and economy. Pray for fraud-free elections, and ask the Lord to give us leaders who will honor the Constitution, our Judeo-Christian Foundations, and our friendship with Israel.
Part II: Brazilian Elections
This Sunday, October 28th, is the final round in the Brazilian presidential elections. Let us continue to hold up a shield of prayer over Brazil. Bind back corruption, fraud, intimidation, and violence as voters go to the polls. Pray for protection for Jair Bolsanaro, a pro-life, pro-freedom-of-religion, and pro-Israel candidate who has already survived one assassination attempt. Pray for a great turnaround for Brazil.
I Timothy 2:1-4, “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."
Matthew 18:18-20, “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
Psalm 75:7, “But God is the Judge: He puts down one, and exalts another.”
2 Chronicles 20:15, “Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”
Isaiah 54:17, “’No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,’ says the Lord.”
Psalm 37:39-40, “But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their strength in the time of trouble. And the Lord shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in Him.”
Leviticus 26:6, “I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none will make you afraid; I will rid the land of evil beasts, and the sword will not go through your land.”
Psalm 5:8-12, “Lead me, O Lord, in Your righteousness because of my enemies; make Your way straight before my face. For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is destruction; their throat is an open tomb; they flatter with their tongue. Pronounce them guilty, O God! Let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions, for they have rebelled against You. But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; let those also who love Your name be joyful in You. For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield.”
