Weekly Watch Focus: The Year of Increase—Open Heaven for National Awakening
FRIDAY, JANUARY 25, 2019—FRIDAY, JANUARY 25, 2019— Pray that God, in His grace and mercy, pour out His Holy Spirit on America. We put God in remembrance of past revivals of Whitefield, Finney, and Azusa Street. We cry out, “Do it again, Lord. Give us an open heaven over our churches, city, and nation.” May God give us a long-lasting, great awakening that will transform us at every level, including arts, education, economy, government, and media. May awesome signs, wonders, miracles, and deliverances demonstrate the power of the gospel. Bind back the satanic strongholds over our cities.
Pray for your pastors, leaders, and church to step into a new level of glory and awakening. Pray for your church to be filled to overflowing. Pray that miracles, healing, and deliverance flow out of your church and into your community. Pray for the harvest in your city.
Part 2: Persecuted Church
Recent reports revealed that 245 million Christians faced oppression or violence in 2018, an increase in 30 million from 2017. China, in particular, has brought a crackdown on Christians, demolishing churches, and passing stricter laws regulating religious practices. Coptic Christians in Egypt continue to face grave danger and terror attacks, while Christians across India and the Middle East face increasing pressures. Pray for our brothers and sisters, many of them in danger of their lives. Pray for the pastors, priests, and families of the leaders of these congregations under persecution, especially in these nations.
