Watch Focus: Peace in Ukraine

Isaiah 2:3-4, "Many people shall come and say, 'Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths.' For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. He shall judge between the nations, and rebuke many people; they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore"

We pray that the Lord, whose name is Jehovah Shalom, would restore peace in Ukraine. Let supernatural shalom reign. May this war come to an end. We pray for the restoration of freedom and for the return of refugees back to their homes without fear. May zones of safety be established. We pray that no weapon formed against the innocent civilians shall prosper. May angels protect them from harm.

Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers” (Matthew 5:9). May the voices of the peacemakers guide Ukraine, Russia, and the nations in this hour. We pray that You would speak to the hearts of President Putin and President Zelenskyy. We ask for wisdom and understanding for all world leaders who are taking part in peace negotiations. May the voices of war and oppression be silenced. May any act of injustice be exposed and the perpetrators be held accountable. Remove every heart of stone towards You and Your laws, and give a heart of flesh whereupon You may write Your decrees.

Ezekiel 36:26, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.”

Last week, a Russian bombing destroyed a maternity hospital resulting in injury to many children as well as mothers delivering their babies. As we pray for violence to cease, we recall the words of admonition spoken by the Lord Jesus in Matthew 18:6, “But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.” The Lord takes this very seriously. Lord, end this violence, and place a hedge around the children and mothers in Ukraine.

Psalm 91:1-5, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust. Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day.”

2 Samuel 22:3-4, “The God of my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge; my Savior, You save me from violence. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.”

Psalm 121:6-8, “Surely he will never be shaken; the righteous will be in everlasting remembrance. He will not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established; he will not be afraid, until he sees his desire upon his enemies.”

Psalm 138:7, “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me.”

2 Thessalonians 3:3, “But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.”

Part Two: Flooding in Australia

Heavy rain has led to disastrous and deadly flooding in the eastern part of Australia including the states of Queensland and New South Wales. Government officials have declared a national emergency as at least 21 people have been killed and more than 60,000 have been forced to evacuate their homes. We pray for the safety of those living in the affected region. We remember those in the flood’s path, and pray for their recovery. May the waters recede and dry up quickly.

Isaiah 43:2, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.”

Psalm 32:6-7, “For this cause everyone who is godly shall pray to You in a time when You may be found; surely in a flood of great waters they shall not come near him. You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance.”

Psalm 74:15-16, “You broke open the fountain and the flood; You dried up mighty rivers. The day is Yours, the night also is Yours; You have prepared the light and the sun.”

We remember fellow believers who are oppressed and tortured for Christ’s sake. In communist China, Afghanistan, India, Nigeria, and other parts of the word, violent radicals or oppressive communism continue to persecute and even murder Christians.
We thank God and pray for our law enforcement. We ask the Lord for their safety and guidance as the carry out their duties with integrity.
As our children return to school, we cover them in prayer. Whether they attend public school, private school, home school, or college, we pray a special anointing over them.
There is a declaration of war in our culture against the identity of our children. Our foundational values and the preservation of identity for individuals and families through Christ as the building block of society is under attack.
Pray for financial recovery from what many economists are calling a recession. We humbly pray for a healthy economy and that integrity would be restored in leadership.
