Weekly Watch Focus: Prayer Shield for our Armed Forces in Afghanistan

FRIDAY, March 2, 2012. Tensions are high in Afghanistan after more than a week of Taliban incited attacks on U.S. and allied forces. Several U.S. troops have been killed. Pray for the safety of our soldiers and those of NATO allies as they work to train Afghan forces and local police to try to bring peace and stability to a region still influenced by tribal violence, the Taliban and terror. Bind back evil forces that would hold the Afghan people captive in darkness and violence. Pray for President Karzai and those in Afghanistan truly allied with us. May angels protect each of our soldiers from violence. May the Holy Spirit guide our men and women in uniform, and give comfort and encouragement to their families.

Ps. 27:2 5, “When the wicked came against me . . . they stumbled and fell . . . For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.”

Eph. 6:12 (Amp.), “For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood (contending only with physical opponents), but against the despotisms, against the powers, against (the master spirits who are) the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.”
