Weekly Watch Focus: Yom Kippur - The Day of Atonement

FRIDAY, September 21, 2012. We are in the period of the 10 Days of Awe in preparation of the holiest day of the year, Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. Our nation is going through a period of moral and economic decline. Let us turn our hearts in repentance towards God so that we may experience once again His mercy and times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord (Acts 3:19). We come on the basis of the atoning work of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, on Calvary. We also pray for Israel and all our Jewish friends across the world, that they may experience also the blessing of God. Let us also pray for God's divine protection for Israel as Iran is threatening once again to destroy Israel as quickly as it can get a nuclear weapon.

Lev. 23:1, 27-28, "The LORD said to Moses, "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'These are my appointed feasts, the appointed feasts of the LORD, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies?The tenth day of this seventh month is The Day of Atonement. Hold a sacred assembly and deny yourselves, and present An offering made to the LORD by fire.  Do no work on that day, because it is the Day of Atonement, when atonement is made for you before the LORD your God.'";

Lev. 17:11 "For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is The blood that makes atonement for one's life."

Heb.9:12 "Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption."

Rev 5:12 ³Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!²
