Weekly Watch Focus: Mexico, Elections

FRIDAY, June 1, 2012. Mexico’s National Elections will be held on July 1, 2012, where they will be choosing their next president as well as congressional leaders. For several years Mexico has been involved in a brutal drug war with the murderous cartels and gangs within her borders. Many areas are under the de facto rule of the violent cartels. Pray for the upcoming elections. Ask God to give Mexico leaders who will have wisdom to bring peace, prosperity, and freedom to our neighbor. Bind violence, fear, and intimidation that would influence the elections. Pray for good government so our neighbors can live without fear, and our borders will be at peace.

1 Tim. 2:1,2, “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.” Lev 26:6, “I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none will make you afraid; I will rid the land of evil beasts, and the sword will not go through your land.” Jer. 33:6, “Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them theabundance of peace and truth.”
