Weekly Watch Focus: Purim—Deliverance of God's People

February 22, 2013 The Bible marks this time of the year as the Feast of Purim (February 24) a memorial to the great deliverance which God wrought for His people, Israel, in the time of Esther (Esther 9).  Even today, Iran threatens to destroy Israel, making ready their nuclear weapons. Egypt has embraced a new government that is hostile to Israel and controlled by the muslim brotherhood. More than ever, we see the spirit of Haman is alive today threatening Jews and also Christians. Bind back the spirit of Haman and antichrist.  Let us bless Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and his new government. May the Lord guide our leaders in America that we as a nation remain true friends of Israel and an undivided Jerusalem. Let us rejoice in the mighty God who is more than able to deliver and protect His people.

Esther 4:14, “For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Gen 12:3, “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
