Weekly Watch Focus: Pentecost—A Season of Outpouring
FRIDAY, May 17, 2013 Pentecost is a season of Open Heaven. May God release a fresh outpouring of His Holy Spirit. We learn from the book of Joel that a nation’s moral, economic, and cultural restoration comes only through God’s outpoured Spirit. May a desperate cry rise from our hearts to God’s ears in this hour. Lord, unless we have Your Spirit, we perish! Let us turn to God with repentant hearts. May He send fresh fire on us individually, on the Church, and on our nation. May the days of Finney and Azusa be eclipsed by what God does in our time. May this fresh Pentecostal revival be accompanied by mighty signs and wonders. May the nations hear of the glory of the Risen Christ!
Acts 2:17-18, “And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shallprophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.”
Acts 10:44-46, ““While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles. For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God.”
Zech 10:1, “Ask the LORD for rain in the time of the latter rain. The LORD will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, grass in the field for everyone.”
Ex. 19:16,19, “On the morning of the third day there were thunders and lightnings and a thick cloud on the mountain and a very loud trumpet blast, so that all the people in the camp trembled. Then Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God…The Lord came down on Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain. And the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.”
Heb. 2:4, “God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?”
