Weekly Watch Focus: Joblessness and the U.S. Economy
Friday, OCT 18, 2013 Nearly 90 million Americans are without jobs, the highest level since such statistics have been collected. Millions looking for full-time work are being forced to accept part-time jobs in today’s economy. Pray that God will show mercy on our nation and restore economic health and vigor to America’s economy. May God give us leaders in every branch of government that will put us on paths of Biblical wisdom and prosperity. Cry out for mercy for families looking for jobs.
Put God in remembrance that America has been Israel’s strongest friend and ally since the day of statehood in 1948, and that He has promised He would bless those who bless Israel.
Ps. 37:25, “I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.”
Phil 4:19, “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Deut. 8:7-14, 18 “ For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, that flow out of valleys and hills; a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey; a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing; a land whose stones are iron and out of whose hills you can dig copper. When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land which He has given you. Beware that you do not forget the Lord your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today, lest—when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them; and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold are multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied; when your heart is lifted up, and you forget the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage… And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”
Prov. 3:9-10, “Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.”
