Weekly Watch Focus: Week 5—Bless Israel and Jerusalem
FRIDAY, Feb. 28, 2014 God has promised to bless those who bless Israel and prosper those who love Jerusalem. As we conclude our 40-day season of humbling and fasting, seeking God’s face, let us stand in the gap and pray protection and fresh blessings for the land and people of Israel. As we pray, we know God calls Israel the apple of His eye. Therefore, in this hour, He will be a faithful shield for Israel though many enemies plan on harm and destruction. We also pray for an undivided Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. May we choose leaders in the upcoming mid-term elections who will bless Israel and defend it against its enemies. May they reject every voice that would turn our nation away from our Judeo-Christian foundations or in any way align us with Israel’s enemies. May those who plan terror and destruction against Jews and against Israel be confused and completely defeated. Bind back the rise of anti-Semitism in academia throughout the West.
Ps. 102:13, “You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favor her, yes, the set time, has come.”
Psalm 122:6, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: 'May they proper who love you. Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces.'”
Is. 62:6-7, “I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent, and give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.”
Gen. 12:3, “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
Zech. 14:8-16
Pray for Venezuela and Ukraine
Let us also pray for the nations of Venezuela and the Ukraine. These nations are going through major turmoil. Pray for an end to the violence, and upheaval. Pray protection for the civilian population and that corruption would be bound and freedom be restored. May this be an opportunity for God to raise up righteous leaders and pull down the wicked and corrupt.
Eph. 6:12 (Amp), “For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.”
Ps. 2:1-12; 2 Cor. 3:17
