Weekly Watch Focus: Nigeria—Deliverance for the Kidnapped Girls
FRIDAY, May 16, 2014, The Revival Presence has been infusing and reviving the Watch in this season. As we have been praying and waiting for fresh encounter, in the realm of the Spirit, stongholds are falling. We sense the Word of the Lord from Joshua — when the walls fell down, every man advanced straight up into the city. This is the time for every person to be fully engaged for the breakthrough, every gift activated to go through the breach in this season of the Open Door. We are declaring: “No more delay!”
In this context, as we gather together, let us press through in prayer concerning the crisis of the Nigerian families whose Christian daughters have been kidnapped by the Islamist terrorist group, Boko Haram. Pray for the Lord to come and bring breakthrough for these families and deliverance for their children from the hands of their enemies. Pray for Nigeria's Christian leader, Goodluck Jonathan, that God would give him wisdom in rescuing these girls and in bringing peace, order, and prosperity to the Nigerian nation. Bind the demonic spirit of extremist Islamic violence that drives the terrorist group Boko Haram. Bless the teams of other nations sent to assist Nigeria in the discovery and rescue of the girls.
Remember also the families of the hundreds who have died or are still missing in the coal mine disaster in western Turkey. Pray for the God of all comfort to surround these families and their loved ones. Pray for the continued search and rescue effort.
Ps. 91:5,6, “You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday”
Ps 125:2, “As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people from this time forth and forever.”
Deut. 20:4, For the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.”
Ps. 18:37, “I have pursued my enemies and overtaken them; neither did I turn back again till they were destroyed.”
