Weekly Watch Focus:  India

FRIDAY, May 30, 2014, We pray for Narendra Modi who has just been sworn in as the new Prime Minister of India. He led his Bharatiya Janata Party to an overwhelming victory in the largest free elections in the world. India is the world’s largest democracy. It has a vast trading partnership with Israel, which benefits both nations. It has an increasing trading relationship with the U.S. Pray for Mr. Modi and for peace and prosperity for India. Mr. Modi was recently the chief minister of Gujarat, leading that state to become the most prosperous state in India. Pray also for the preservation of freedom under this new government, including the freedom of religion. May India continue its friendship and partnership with Israel and the U.S.

I Tim. 2:1,2, “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.”
