Weekly Watch Focus: Christian Genocide—Pray for Defeat of ISIL

FRIDAY, August 29, There is an ongoing genocide in Iraq and Syria of Christians and other minorities by the terrorist army referred to as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. Pray for our Christian brethren who are shedding their blood for the faith and for all who are suffering under unspeakable evil inflicted by these Islamic terrorists. Franklin Graham, who leads the aid group, Samaritan's Purse, report that entire families were buried alive in Iraq when they refused to convert to Islam. Thousands of men, women, and children have been killed. Yazidis and other Muslims are also fleeing these evil terrorist forces. ISIL routinely cuts off heads and impales them on poles. Recently they beheaded American journalist, James Foley, and posted it on the Internet.

Christians have lived in these parts of Iraq even before the arrival of Islam. Now, thousands of Christians and Yazidis are homeless. We pray may the American British, and other allied governments help put an end to this terrible violence. May the Lord guide and protect the U.S. Air Force as they plan strategic air strikes to destroy the ISIL forces. May the new Iraqi government and Kurdish forces stop and push back the advance of this evil army. Let us pray for our Christian brethren in Iraq who have suffered terribly. Let us remember that the Head of the Church can never be beheaded. His name is Jesus, King of kings and Lord of lords. Release His holy angels to pull down these forces of Anti-christ. May the Islamic State be totally defeated .
Col. 2:15, "Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it."

Rom. 8:38-39, "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Rev. 12:11, "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death."

Heb. 13:3; Phil. 1:21; Phil. 1:27-28; Rom. 8:18; 2 Cor. 1:7-9; 1 Cor. 15:57; Rom. 16:20; 1 Jn 4:1-21
