Weekly Watch Focus: Midterm Elections Final Days

FRIDAY, Nov. 1, 2014, Only a few days remain until midterm elections take place on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014. Key congressional and gubernatorial choices will be made as well as state and local offices. Let us keep praying for these elections through election day. Bind fraud and media manipulations. Pray that the elections are peaceful and honest. For the sake of our next generation, let us pray that God will help us choose candidates who honor our Judeo-Christian values and help secure a healthy economy based on sound, biblical principles. More than 90 million Americans remain jobless. Millions of our youth are also facing joblessness, yoked with the pressure of student loans coming due.

With the real shadow of an Ebola pandemic threatening us, pray that our leaders are able to secure our borders. Let us continue to lift up the nations of West Africa devastated by the spread of Ebola.

1 Timothy 2:1-4, "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."

Prov. 11:1, 14, "Dishonest scales are an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is His delight. Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety."

2 Chron. 7:14, "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

Exod. 15:26, “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.”

Ps. 91:10, “No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling.”

Num. 16:46-48, “So Moses said to Aaron, ‘Take a censer and put fire in it from the altar, put incense on it, and take it quickly to the congregation and make atonement for them; for wrath has gone out from the Lord. The plague has begun.” Then Aaron took it as Moses commanded, and ran into the midst of the assembly; and already the plague had begun among the people. So he put in the incense and made atonement for the people. And he stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped.’”
