Watch Focus: Jerusalem!

Friday, OCT 23, 2015 Violence in Jerusalem, Gaza, and the West Bank have continued over the last few days with stabbings and shootings of several innocent Israeli civilians, children, and Israeli soldiers. Palestinian leaders have been ramping up tensions using the Temple Mount and the Western Wall as points of contention, claiming the Jews want to destroy the Muslim's "holy" mosques. The United Nations is discussing, once again, dispossessing the Jews of key sections of Jerusalem.

Jerusalem is important to the Lord above all. It is the only city chosen by God over every other city in the world to put His name (1 Kings 14:21, 2 Chron. 6:4-6). It is the City of David where King Solomon built the great Temple and Shekinah glory came to dwell. It is essential that Christian's hold this city's safety and unity in the highest regard. This is the city where Jesus was crucified, was resurrected, and will return. Satan opposes this word with His whole might.

God instructs us emphatically to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. For our own sakes, our safety, and prosperity let us not forget to keep Jerusalem and its well-being central in our hearts. Pray confusion upon all who would divide the land or the city. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! May the Lord release His heavenly host to protect all who live in Jerusalem and Israel. Pray also for God's protection and wisdom for Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel. Pray for the I.D.F as they guard the land and the Holy City. Bless the Mayor of Jerusalem.

Also cover in prayer Israel's neighbor, Jordan, and King Abdullah, the brave sovereign of this nation, who has chosen peace and friendship with Israel. Jordan has been a faithful ally of America and is hosting hundreds of thousands of Christian and Muslim refugees.

Finally, we pray, may the American people's hearts show favor to Israel and the Jews.

Ps. 122:6, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May they prosper who love you."

Deut 33:26-28, "There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, who rides the heavens to help you, and in His excellency on the clouds. The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy from before you, and will say, 'Destroy!' Then Israel shall dwell in safety, the fountain of Jacob alone, in a land of grain and new wine; His heavens shall also drop dew."

Ezek. 34:25-27; Ps. 129:5-6; Prov. 16:7; Ps. 25:22; Ps. 33:10; Is. 52:9
