Weekly Watch Focus: Economic Recovery

Friday, January 29, 2016 —  In this season of prayer, fasting, and repentance, pray that the Lord in His mercy will restore America’s economic vitality and prosperity. The beginning of January 2016 indicates an economic slowdown across the globe, possibly leading America into a long period of recession. We rebuke the devourer.

Economists observe that America’s jobless rate is at 21%, some saying it is closer to 42%, with about 93 million jobless Americans and more than 46 million receiving food stamps. But God has a turnaround! Our nation will be blessed and prosperous so we may continue to be strong to help the poor and hungry in the nations. God, give us leaders, a new president, and legislators that will put us on paths of biblical wisdom and godly prosperity. May there be a shift in America’s fiscal policies, honoring our Judeo-Christian foundation so we may become a debt-free nation, with full employment and a rise of new enterprises and enterprises.

Deut. 8:7-14, 18, “ For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, that flow out of valleys and hills; a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey; a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing; a land whose stones are iron and out of whose hills you can dig copper. When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land which He has given you. Beware that you do not forget the Lord your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today, lest—when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them; and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold are multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied; when your heart is lifted up, and you forget the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage… And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”

Prov. 3:9-10, “Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the first fruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.”

Prov. 22:7, “The rich rules over the poor, And the borrower is servant to the lender.”

Phil. 4:19, “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
