Weekly Watch Focus: Prayer Shield Against Terrorism & Disease

Friday, February 5, 2016, We humbly ask God to protect our children and families from any terrorist plots that have infiltrated our civilian population. Put a hedge of protection over our schools, churches and synagogues, malls, theaters, and public gatherings like the super bowl. ISIS has stated their intentions to wreak havoc among Western nations and other nations such as Nigeria, Egypt, India, and others. Last November an alert guard at the stadium in Paris was able to prevent the possible death of thousands. May God expose the plans of these extremist Islamic terrorists.

We also ask God for protection from the spread of the Zika virus. This growing pandemic in Latin America and the Caribbean nations causes severe birth defects to babies in gestation of infected women, putting all pregnant mothers at risk. The Florida governor has declared a state of emergency in four counties where the Zika virus has been detected. We pray this plague will be stopped.

Psalms 91:1-6, “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’ Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.”

Psalms 2:9, “You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.”

Exodus 15:26, “He said, ‘If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.’”

Isa. 49:25; Deut. 20:4; Matt. 8:16, 17; Num. 16:4; 2 Sam. 24:25
