Weekly Watch Focus: Release Angelic Protection

Friday, July 22, 2016—Psalm 34:7 tells us that “the angel of the Lord encamps round about them that fear Him and delivers them.” As we have received ongoing news reports of civilians around the world killed and decimated by innumerable radical Islamic terror attacks, as well as the targeted assassination of law enforcement officers as they carry out their civic duties, it is imperative that believers pray aggressively for divine protection and supernatural peace in the coming weeks and months.

Let us cry out to the Lord God, the Captain of Angel Armies, to release His invisible armed forces, His awesome angelic cohorts to protect our police, protect our children, and protect all our public gatherings. Let us not ignore the divine assistance that scriptures promise us.

The Bible has 273 references to angels. These heavenly beings are not to be worshiped, but we certainly honor them as ministers of help and welcome their assistance in this hour that a wave of violence and terror has been released.

Dr. Billy Graham in his book, Angels: God’s Secret Agents, assures us that these extraordinary beings exist to provide aid on our behalf. We believe in angels because the Bible teaches us they exist.

As I write this focus, I am reminded of the time I was in the middle of one of the most devastating tornadoes to hit the Southwest U.S. In May 1970, as I was preparing a graduate paper in my apartment in the city of Lubbock, Texas, a giant tornado hit that area with devastating effect. A supernatural being lifted me up off my couch, moving me away from the wave of shattered glass that would have impaled me, placing me behind a couch and shielding me with his body. I will never forget my deliverance in the midst of a great storm because God sent His angel of protection.

Let us thank God for the assistance of God’s wonderful, angelic army in this hour. Welcome God’s angels and pray for a fresh release of angelic help in this hour of violence and threats of terror. May our police who protect us have a shield of angelic protection. May angels watch over our children, our churches, our pastors, leaders, missionaries, and all public gatherings. Give thanks for divine help. Angels are often found around worship and praise in Scripture. Let us cover our cities with ongoing worship and praise as we call on the Lord for His awesome deliverance and protection.

Hebrews 1:14, “Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?”

Psalm 91:11-12, “For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.”

John 20:11-12; Luke 4:10; Matt. 18:10; Matt. 16:27; Rev. 5:11-12; Rev. 14:6; Luke 15:10
