Weekly Watch Focus: Hurricane Matthew
FRIDAY, Oct 7, 2016—Hurricane Matthew, a category IV storm, ripped through Haiti and is now sitting just off the coast of Florida. Hundreds of thousands of people have been evacuated from Florida to South Carolina in advance of this devastating hurricane. Pray now for Matthew to turn out to sea. Bind the spirit of destruction and pray blessing, protection, peace, and supernatural deliverance from this storm for our coastal regions. Put up a shield of protection over Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, that there would be no loss of life. Pray for our law enforcement and first responders as they assist in the preparation and response to Hurricane Matthew. Speak shalom to this storm.
We also pray for Haiti and the areas already devastated by this hurricane. Pray for the hundreds of families grieving for the loss of their loved ones. Pray for all those whose homes and villages have been destroyed. Pray for the first responders, relief operation, and all recovery efforts.
Watch Focus Part 2: Yom Kippur—The Day of Atonement
We are in the period of the 10 Days of Awe in preparation of the holiest day of the year, Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. We give honor to Jesus Christ for the expiation of our sins and the salvation of our souls through the Day of Atonement. This day only happens once per year, signifying that Christ died once for us, the Just for the unjust, to bring us to the heavenly Father. As our High Priest, He offered His blood within the veil, making atonement for the sins of all (Lev. 16:29). Only then could the Trumpet of the Jubilee sound forth on the Tenth day of the Seventh month. May we set aside this week to spend quality time in His presence, and honor the atoning work of our High Priest, Jesus. May we humble our souls before the awesomeness of the shed blood of Calvary by which we have access to the throne of grace. Let us enter boldly through Jesus’ precious blood to obtain grace and favor for ourselves, our children, and others who need His divine touch of mercy. Now we can enter into rest and cry out for mercy, revival, restoration, and refreshing for our nation and hungry souls from every nation. May there be a turnaround. May the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob protect our nation. We pray for Israel and all our Jewish friends across the world, that they may experience the blessing of God also. Let us pray for God's continued divine protection for Israel as Iran continues to seek Israel's destruction through obtaining nuclear weapons.
