Weekly Watch Focus: We Declare—Jesus is Lord over 2017!
Friday, December 31, 2016—With praise on our lips and thanksgiving in our hearts, we declare in faith the glory, blessing, and lordship of Jesus Christ over the New Year from the beginning to the end of 2017. We go into the New Year with trust that His Presence is going with us as His Presence went with the children of Israel, taking them towards the Promised Land. We extol the name of the Lord and invite the Holy Spirit to accompany us every day of the coming year.
Thank Him for His loving care over us in 2016. Declare the lordship of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is blessing us, our families, churches, cities, and nation. Through the finished work of Jesus Christ on Calvary we have provision, protection, victory, and good health for this coming year. We pray that each day will be filled with His grace, favor, and presence for us and our children. Plead the blood of Jesus Christ over every believing family and over His church.
During this season we take special care to pray protection and wisdom over President-Elect Donald Trump and Vice-President Elect Mike Pence and their families. We also pray grace over outgoing President Obama and Vice President Biden and their families. We ask for special protection during these New Year Celebrations from every planned terror attack over the U.S. and around the world.
In view also of the United Nation’s anti-Israel resolution this past week, we join in praying special blessing and protection over Israel, Jerusalem, and Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. According to His word, may God bless those who bless Israel and curse those that curse Israel (Gen. 12:3). May He defeat those who plan harm over His land, Israel, and His people.
