Weekly Watch Focus: 2017—The Year of Recovery
Friday, January 6, 2017—We are beginning the year with a season of corporate fasting and prayer, seeking God’s face according to 2 Chron. 7:14. We declare the lordship and blessing of Jesus Christ over us, our children, our church, city, and nation in 2017.
We also seek God’s face on behalf of the new administration coming in. Pray for God’s protection and wisdom for President-elect Trump, Vice President-elect Mike Pence, and their families. May the Lord bring healing to our land, especially our cities broken with violence. May the Lord bring restoration and recovery to our economy so there is a plentiful supply of jobs. Pray the Lord cover us from dangers of radical Islamic terrorism, providing supernatural protection here and abroad for all peace-loving nations. We put ourselves under the strong protective wings of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Begin this year not only with fasting and prayer, but enter into 2017 with renewed faith and confidence in our Lord with strong praise, thanksgiving, and worship to the King of Glory, asking for His presence, blessing, and protection all year long.

2 Chron. 7:14, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
Ezra 8:21-23, “ Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him the right way for us and our little ones and all our possessions. For I was ashamed to request of the king an escort of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy on the road, because we had spoken to the king, saying, ‘The hand of our God is upon all those for good who seek Him, but His power and His wrath are against all those who forsake Him.’ So we fasted and entreated our God for this, and He answered our prayer.”
Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
Exod. 33:14, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
Deut. 11:11-12, “But the land which you cross over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water from the rain of heaven, a land for which the Lord your God cares; the eyes of the Lord your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year.”
