Weekly Watch Focus: Pray for France and the French Elections

FRIDAY, April 21, 2017—The first round of French presidential elections takes place this Sunday, April 23. Europe is grappling with how to respond to the rise of radical jihadi terrorists and the surge of refugees from Syria and other areas overrun by ISIS. Many say this election will determine not only France’s future, but will be a bellweather for the direction of Europe for generations to come.

One of the more recent issues has been that EU member states have been forced to receive hundreds of thousands of new immigrants, most without papers, originating from the Middle East and North Africa. This has resulted in increased levels of terror attacks, violent crimes, and great economic burdens within the host countries. This is a critical time of decision-making for France. Pray that God will guide the upcoming decision. Pray for protection for candidates and voters. Just this week, French authorities have already thwarted planned bombings of campaign events. Pray that the French people will have divine wisdom to vote for the candidate that will keep their nation safe and prosperous. Pray for leaders who will stand with Israel.
