Weekly Watch Focus: Pray for Venezuela

FRIDAY, August 3, 2017 - “But God is the Judge: He puts down one, and exalts another” (Psalm 75:7).

Chaos looms over Venezuela as its socialist government under Nicholas Maduro is pushing that once thriving nation into starvation and bankruptcy. The people of Venezuela are suffering from lack of food, scarce medicine, and extreme violence. The communist-socialist policies of Hugo Chavez and his successor Maduro have been a complete failure, leading these once prosperous people into desperate poverty. Maduro has arrested opposition leaders, and any semblance of democracy is in shambles.

Please pray for the people of Venezuela. Pray for the total defeat of this oppressive regime. God, have mercy on this special land and restore freedom and prosperity. Bind back the Marxist philosophies ruling Venezuela. Lord, send revival and restoration for the people of Venezuela.

1 Timothy 2:1-4, “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

Ephesians 6:12 (AMP), “For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.”

2 Samuel 24:25b, “So the Lord heeded the prayers for the land, and the plague was withdrawn from Israel.”

Exodus 18:21, Matthew 18:18-20, Psalm 2:1-12; 2 Corinthians 1:3, 2 Corinthians 3:17
