There’s power in our prayers and declarations. Here’s a testimony where one word stilled the storm:

During one of our conferences, a tremendous storm suddenly formed over our city. We were meeting in a large tent and had about a thousand people in attendance. Fierce winds pushed bands of rain into the sides of the tent. People quickly gathered their things to keep them out of the water rising under their feet. The gusts were so strong that the sides of the tent were blowing vertically and the large tent poles started to lift out of the ground! The situation was grave.

With nowhere to run and nothing but thrashing canvas between the congregation and the storm, I searched for direction and wisdom in the face of pending disaster. In the midst of chaos, there came a word—Shalom. In an instant I understood and said, “Shalom.”

As soon as the word left my lips—not in ten seconds or twenty seconds or a minute, but at that instant—the raging storm ceased over the whole region. No more wind, no more rain. One word from the glory and God’s perfect shalom ruled over the natural elements.

Let’s stand together tonight and speak shalom to Hurricane Irma. Join us in person or online to bind the storm and speak peace to Florida and our coastal regions.

Weekly Watch Focus: Hurricane Irma—Rebuke the Storm

Friday, September 6, 2017—Hurricane Irma has already struck the Lesser Antilles, the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Irma, one of the strongest hurricanes ever recorded in the Atlantic Ocean, is now tracking towards Florida and the Southeast coast. We pray for those who have already been hit by this massive hurricane and we stand in the gap for the U.S. and other Islands in Irma’s path. We rebuke Hurricane Irma in Jesus’ name. We speak shalom to the winds, and declare a shift back out to sea. We bind the destructive forces of this storm and put a hedge of protection over everyone in its path. Let God arise and His enemies be scattered!

Part 2: Recovery: Hurricane Harvey

We also continue to pray for the hundreds of thousands of people recovering from Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Louisiana. We pray for strength and resources for restoration of the many homes and businesses lost in the storm and floods. We pray comfort for those who have lost loved ones. We pray for the many agencies and volunteers who are at work in the area to have wisdom and protection. We pray for the Lord to restore and recover ALL for this region.

Week 1 Corporate Fast: Pray for Healing and Unity for our Nation

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14). In this first week of our corporate fast, we humble ourselves before the Lord with fasting (Psalm 35:12). Bind the spirits of division and strife. Ask the Lord to heal the wounds of our nation. Pray for the Holy Spirit to bring unity and restoration to this great land.

Mark 4:39, “And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, ‘Peace! Be still!’ And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.”

2 Samuel 24:25b, “So the Lord heeded the prayers for the land, and the plague was withdrawn from Israel.”

Isaiah 43:2, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.”

Psalm 29:10-11, “The Lord sat enthroned at the Flood, and the Lord sits as King forever. The Lord will give strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.”
