Weekly Watch Focus: Give Thanks—Lowest Jobless Rate Since 1973

Friday, October 27, 2017—Let us pause and give thanks that the Lord is in the process of restoring our economy. The latest report shows that the jobless rate is the lowest it has been since 1973. Unemployment is also at a sixteen-year low, and the stock market hit another record high this past week. Thank the Lord and celebrate these signs of restoration and strengthening of the U.S. economy. Pray for the Lord’s grace to continue to rest on our nation for growth and increase. Continue to pray for anyone in need of a job or promotion that the doors will open for jobs and better jobs, new business opportunities, and anointed ideas for new industries and services that will create economic growth in our nation. We are also thankful that the U.S. has once again become a major exporter of energy, like oil and gas, helping restore health and vigor to our economy.

Deuteronomy 8:7-14, 18 “ For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, that flow out of valleys and hills; a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey; a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing; a land whose stones are iron and out of whose hills you can dig copper. When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land which He has given you. Beware that you do not forget the Lord your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today, lest—when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them; and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold are multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied; when your heart is lifted up, and you forget the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage… And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”

Proverbs 3:9-10, “Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the first fruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.”
