Weekly Watch Focus: Worship—Pray for Saudi Arabia and its New Crown Prince

FRIDAY, April 19, 2018--There are significant changes in Saudi Arabia as the crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, is granting new freedoms to Saudi nationals, especially women. Pray for this new leadership, especially Crown Prince Salman who is helping bring moderation to his nation. He just visited the United States a few weeks ago, and he is also breaking tradition by developing a friendship with Israel. Last week, he publicly stated Israel has a right to exist. This is the first time Saudi Arabia has made such a statement which will help stabilize those who seek peace. With the rise of Iran’s Islamic extremism expanding influence over the region, voices of moderation and allies to Western values are needed in the Middle East. Pray for ongoing protection for him as he moves his nation into closer alliance with the United States. Continue to pray for protection of Christians all across the Middle East.

Psalm 149:6-9, “Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand, to execute vengeance on the nations, and punishments on the peoples; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute on them the written judgment—this honor have all His saints. Praise the LORD!”

Psalm 22:3, “But You are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel.”

2 Chronicles 20:21-22, “And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: ‘Praise the Lord, for His mercy endures forever.’ Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.”
