Weekly Watch Focus: Palm Sunday—Hosanna in the Highest

FRIDAY, April 12, 2019—As Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey, the people threw their cloaks and palms onto the road shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ Hosanna in the highest!” (Matthew 21:9). The King of Kings was about to offer Himself as our Atoning Lamb of God in fulfillment of Passover. In Exodus 12, we see that as the Israelites took a lamb for each household, the blood of that lamb broke every yoke of slavery and oppression and released the children of Israel to go to the Promised Land. In the same manner, let all the families of the earth honor the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, who shed his precious blood at Calvary to redeem us all and set us free from the yoke of sin and iniquity. We welcome a new season of evangelism, healing, deliverance from demonic oppressions and curses coming on waves of glory, grace, and refreshing from the presence of the Lord.

May we worship the awesome Lamb and welcome His glorious work. He took our sins, our sicknesses, and all our sorrows. He breaks every curse. He redeems our families, and all the families on earth. Therefore, we give glory and cry out, “Hosanna in the highest. Worthy is the Lamb!”

Part II Israel Elections

We thank the Lord for peaceful elections in Israel that culminated in the historic fifth term of Benjamin Netanyahu. We pray Shalom for Prime Minister Netanyahu as he forms a new government to lead the nation of Israel. Pray for his safety and for the safety of his ministers. May God continue to prosper and give peace to Israel.

Luke 19:28-40, “When He had said this, He went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. And it came to pass, when He drew near to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mountain called Olivet, that He sent two of His disciples, saying, ‘Go into the village opposite you, where as you enter you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Loose it and bring it here. And if anyone asks you, “Why are you loosing it?” thus you shall say to him, “Because the Lord has need of it.”’ So those who were sent went their way and found it just as He had said to them. But as they were loosing the colt, the owners of it said to them, ‘Why are you loosing the colt?’ And they said, ‘The Lord has need of him.’ Then they brought him to Jesus. And they threw their own clothes on the colt, and they set Jesus on him. And as He went, many spread their clothes on the road. Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, saying:  ‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!’ And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, ‘Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.’ But He answered and said to them, ‘I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.’”

John 1:29, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”

Galatians 3:13-14, “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”, that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”

Genesis 12:3, “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Psalm 102:13, “You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favor her, yes, the set time, has come.”

Psalm 122:6, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: 'May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces.'”

Isaiah 62:6-7, “I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent, and give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.”
