Weekly Watch Focus: National Day of Prayer
FRIDAY, April 26, Next Thursday, May 2nd, is the National Day of Prayer. As Americans we want to come before God in repentance and humility, asking for forgiveness, direction, and wisdom. The Founding Fathers had an abiding faith in Jesus Christ, the Bible, and our Judeo-Christian foundations. We turn our hearts afresh as a nation to the Living God, crying out for mercy, restoration, and revival. May we have a great awakening as in the days of Whitefield and Finney. May our children grow up with strong families and lasting moral values. May our economic prosperity grow so that in prosperity so we may succor people of other nations whose lives have been devastated by poverty, oppression, disease, and disasters. May the God of Angel Armies protect our leaders, President Trump, Vice-President Pence, the cabinet and their families. Finally, we pray for an outpouring of glory in signs, wonders and miracles in our churches, our cities, and our nation. America ultimately needs Jesus, the King of Glory. May God open the heavens over our outreaches and evangelism, demonstrating the power of the Gospel and delivering His people from darkness with signs and wonders. We declare personal and family victory and a breaking of every generational curse on our family line. May God pour out His Spirit and renew the face of the earth in the greatest awakening this nation has ever seen. Let God Arise and His enemies be scattered!
Part II: Deadly Easter Bombings in Sri Lanka
On Easter Sunday, more than 300 Christians were murdered by after extreme Islamic terrorists set off bombs in a coordinated attack on Believers gathered in churches and hotels to celebrate Easter. By present count, they killed 359 innocent victims, wounding hundreds more. Pray for those injured in the bombings and for the families of those who lost their lives. Pray for God’s Spirit of comfort to rest on the Christian community in Sri Lanka.
Pray for God’s grace and peace for the nation. May its leaders and security forces be guided by the Lord in the midst of this tragedy. We pray they quickly find and arrest those responsible for these barbaric acts of terror. Bind back the spirit of murder and violence behind Islamic jihadist terror.
Lift up believers in Sri Lanka who face ongoing persecution in this majority Buddhist nation. May the Lord turn tragedy into triumph for His Church and for the nation in a fresh wave of salvations, signs, wonders, and miracles that will bring national transformation and healing for Sri Lanka and the surrounding region.
