Weekly Watch Focus: Shalom for our Cities
FRIDAY, JULY 12, 2019— As summer heats up, so has the murder and violence rates in some of our major cities in the U.S. Speak shalom to our cities. Set the spiritual atmosphere by releasing praise and worship. Pray for our police and other law-enforcement agencies to have supernatural protective shields. Ask that each will be guided with courage and wisdom as they stand in the line of duty to keep the peace.
We also bind in prayer the violence which has led to the astronomical increase in murders and those wounded in cities such as Chicago. Bind the spirits of violence and addiction behind gangs, drug dealers, and cartels. Bind terror attacks. Pray for your city, welcoming Holy Angels of God to guard every neighborhood. Pray for local law enforcement. Pray for the families of our police forces who are daily putting their lives in danger. Let us remember especially the families of officers who have lost their lives carrying out their duties. Let us agree that respect and honor for the law to be restored back in our society.
In preparation for the 2020 elections, let us pray for the cities of Milwaukee, WI and Charlotte, NC, hosts of the Democratic and Republican National Conventions respectively. Bind the activities of extremist political agitators who would stir up violence at these conventions. Pray confusion into their plans and wisdom and divine strategy for the host cities as they prepare for these national conventions. Pray for the peace of Jehovah Shalom to reign supreme.
Finally, we pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May we prosper and be in peace as we pray for the city God calls His own.
