Weekly Watch Focus: The Feast of Tabernacles

FRIDAY, October 11, 2019—According to the biblical calendar, we are entering the season of the Feast of Tabernacles. We come to this Feast in faith, accepting Jesus’ wonderful invitation to us all, “On the Great Day of the Feast” on which He said, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his belly will flow rivers of Living Water’” (John 7:37-38). As we celebrate this special time on God’s calendar, let us drink from the Holy Spirit, the One who refreshes us. This is also the time that Jesus said, ““I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life” (John 8:12). May a Spirit of revelation bring the Light of Christ in a fresh way in this season of the Feast.

Ask the Father for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit for our nation resulting in a grand revival similar to the days of Wesley, Finney and Azusa. Pray God’s supernatural rivers flow as never before to bring in a great harvest, confirmed with signs and wonders. Let us bless Israel so that the God of Israel will be gracious to our land.

John 7:2-3, “Now the Jews’ Feast of Tabernacles was at hand. His brothers therefore said to Him, “Depart from here and go into Judea, that Your disciples also may see the works that You are doing.”

John 7:37-38, “On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his belly will flow rivers of living water.”

Leviticus 23:33-36, “Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, ‘Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days to the Lord. On the first day there shall be a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it. For seven days you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation, and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. It is a sacred assembly, and you shall do no customary work on it.’”

Numbers 29:12; Ezra 3:4; Zechariah 14:16-19; Exodus 15:26

Part 2: Bind Anti-Semitism

On the holiest day of the Jewish calendar, a gunman shot two people outside of a synagogue in Halle, Germany. He then threw a grenade into a Jewish cemetery and planted improvised explosive devices outside the synagogue entrance. This attack continues an alarming rise in anti-Semitism in Europe and even America. Bind the demonic spirit of anti-Semitism which is repugnant to the heart of God and brings a curse on a people and nation. The Bible clearly tells us “Salvation is of the Jews” (John 4:22).  We owe so much to the Jewish people from whom comes the Bible, the apostles, and our Savior. Our values originate in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob who promises that those who bless Israel will be blessed (Genesis 12:3). Those who pray for the peace of Jerusalem will prosper (Psalm 122:6). We hunger for God’s blessings over us, our children, and our nation. Release blessings on Israel and pray for peace of Jerusalem, the capital of Israel. May God put a shield of protection over Israel and all those who bless her. May the God of Israel confuse her enemies and render their plan to no effect.

Genesis 12:3, “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Psalm 83: 1-18, “Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, and do not be still, O God! For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; and those who hate You have lifted up their head. They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, and consulted together against Your sheltered ones. They have said, ‘Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no  more’… O my God, make them like the whirling dust, like the chaff before the wind! As the fire burns the woods, and as the flame sets the mountains on fire, so pursue them with Your tempest, and frighten them with Your storm. Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek Your name, O Lord. Let them be confounded and dismayed forever; Yes, let them be put to shame and perish, that they may know that You, whose name alone is the Lord, are the Most High over all the earth.”

Psalm 102:13, “You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favor her, yes, the set time, has come.”

Psalm 122:6, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: 'May they proper who love you. Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces.'”

Isaiah 62:6-7, “I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent, and give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.”
