Weekly Watch Focus: Explosion in Beirut

Friday, August 7, 2020—A massive explosion at a warehouse in Beirut has killed more than 138 people and injured multiple thousands of others. Hospitals are overwhelmed with the wounded. Hundreds of thousands of people lost their homes and businesses. The heart of the city and the nation’s most important port were devastated. Pray for the Lebanese people as they mourn their loss in this massive tragedy. Pray for rescue workers digging through the rubble for survivors. Pray for peace and stability in the region. May the Lord comfort the thousands of families grieving for their lost loved ones.

Part 2: Coronavirus

Continue to lift up prayers for the Lord to give supernatural help to those working on an effective vaccine for COVID-19. Bind back fraud and manipulation of this pandemic for unrighteous purposes. Pray for the Lord’s authority to bind back the power of this virus to infect and harm in Jesus’ name.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”

Psalm 34:18, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

Psalm 91:5-6, “You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.”

John 16:33, "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Romans 8:38-39, “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
