Weekly Watch Focus: Israel and United Arab Emirates' Historic Peace Accord
Friday, August 21, 2020—Last week in one of the most significant events in our lifetime, Israel and United Arab Emirates struck a historic peace agreement. The U.S. brokered deal opened diplomatic and economic relations between Israel and UAE that promises to shape the course of the Middle East much in the way the historic 1979 agreement between Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin and Anwar Sadat of Egypt did. Israeli leaders have extended thanks to the U.S. for its role in being the main broker for this accord. Give thanks to the Lord for the victory for Israel and the Middle East. Thank the Lord for the leadership role that President Trump and his administration played in facilitating this important and prophetic event. Genesis 12:3 promises a blessing for those who bless Israel. As we thank the Lord for this miracle, pray for the blessing of the Lord to come on President Trump and on the United States as we have led the way in blessing Israel. Pray for the continued peace of Jerusalem and the nation of Israel. Pray that the Arab nations that embrace diplomatic ties with Israel will be blessed and bring peace and prosperity to the region.
Part 2: Wildfires in CA
A brutal heatwave coupled with intense lightning storms has sparked more the 300 fires in the Bay Area, Central and Northern California. More than 22,000 people have been evacuated and tens of thousands of acres are in flames. 10,800 lightning strikes in just 72 hours have stretched fire crews to their limits. Pray for the thousands of the families who are displaced and at risk of losing their homes and businesses. Stand in the gap and plead the blood of Jesus over California. Pray a hedge of protection for the people of California and bind back death and destruction.
Psalm 122:6-7, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: 'May they proper who love you. Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces.'”
Genesis 12:3, “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
Isaiah 62:6, “I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they shall [a]never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent.”
Psalm 102:13, “You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favor her, yes, the set time, has come.”
Isaiah 43:2, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.”
Joel 2:23-25, “Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God; for He has given you the former rain faithfully and He will cause the rain to come down for you—the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. The threshing floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil. I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten.”
2 Corinthians 1:3, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our afflictions.”
2 Samuel 24:25b, “So the Lord heeded our prayers for the land, and the plague was withdrawn from Israel.”
Zechariah 10:1, “Ask the Lord for rain in the time of the latter rain. The Lord will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, grass in the field for everyone.”
