Watch Focus: Purim – For Such a Time As This

During this season, Jews everywhere celebrate their great deliverance which God wrought for His people in the time of Esther (Esther 9). Celebrate with high praise the God who gives great turnarounds! Turn your eyes to the miracle of Purim where God took care of thousands of innocent Jewish people as Haman’s evil plan to destroy them was totally cancelled by God’s miracle power. Even as Haman plotted to destroy the Jews, the spirit of Haman is at large again today. May the Lord who preserved Israel in the time of Esther hear the cry of His church and of the innocent and preserve and protect them. Rejoice in the mighty God who is more than able to deliver and protect us.

Remember to pray for the peace of Jerusalem as God says for us to bless them, and bind back the evil spirit of anti-Christ that still wants to destroy the Jews. “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (Genesis 12:3). May we as a nation always be true friends of Israel and an undivided Jerusalem. We rejoice in the mighty God who watches over Israel and protects His people.

This season of Purim is a set aside time for extra laughter and joy. We rejoice in the defeat of the enemies of God and of His people. We release a fresh infilling of the Spirit, “When the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, ‘The Lord has done great things for them.’” (Psalm 126:1-2). Pray for individuals and families who need a great deliverance and supernatural healing. The Holy Spirit taught us many years ago that laughter was one of God’s prescriptions for healing. Speak joy over your communities and your nation. “For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth; The time of singing has come, And the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.” (Song of Solomon 2:11-12)

Esther 4:14, “For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?"

Exodus 15:6, “Your right hand, O Lord, has become glorious in power; Your right hand, O Lord, has dashed the enemy in pieces.”

Psalm 122:6, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you.”

Psalm 121:4, “Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.”

Psalm 107:20, “He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”
