Pray for America: “No sovereign but God, no King but Jesus”

Pray for a RETURN to the Spirit who inspired our national founding. On April 18, 1775, a British soldier ordered John Adams, John Hancock, and others to “disperse in the name of George the Sovereign King of England.” Adams responded, “We recognize no sovereign but God, and no king but Jesus!” It became a rallying cry used throughout the turmoil of our national birth. As President, Adams called for a national day of prayer and fasting to "call to mind our numerous offenses against the most high God, confess them before Him with the sincerest penitence, implore his pardoning mercy, through the Great Mediator and Redeemer, for our past transgression, and that through the grace of His Holy Spirit, we may be disposed and enabled to yield a more suitable obedience.” As we conclude our corporate fast we agree with heaven for America and break the deception destroying our national identity.
 
In the Old Testament, Athalia, the daughter of Ahab and Jezebel, massacred the rightful heirs and usurped the throne. The child Josiah was hidden until a critical time. He was brought out, and the witch queen was destroyed. Josiah turned the nation back to God and to His commands (II Kings 11:1–3). America has been bewitched. Paul rebuked the Galatians, who, having been freed through Christ, turned back to the works of the flesh. Jeremiah declared, “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the Lord. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see when good comes, but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness.”
 
Plead the blood of Jesus and break the curse of witchcraft that has been embraced across American bureaucracy, education, and media.
 
Paul says, “when God was pleased to reveal His Son” (Galatians 1:15–17), he immediately repented. Pray for an outpouring of revelation of Jesus and repentance, on our youth and especially among current influencers and leaders of all types and ages. Break the stranglehold of deception and pray for a return to truth and moral tradition.
