Weekly Watch Focus: Elections 2012

FRIDAY, September 23, 2011.Now is the time to start seeking God’s face for the crucial presidential and congressional elections set for next year. Millions of our citizens are jobless. We are in horrendous debt to nations like Red China. We desperately need wise, mature leaders. First Timothy 2 instructs us to pray first of all “for kings and all who are in authority.” Let’s humbly cry out on behalf of our nation. May God restore America. Pray that the Lord will give us a president that is of His choice rather than the choice of a manipulative media. May our next president be a proven, true friend of Israel. Pray also that only people who stand for our Judeo-Christian values and the heritage of our nation’s founders will be elected to the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.

“Lord, give us leaders such that it would be to your glory to give us the victory through them.”

1 Tim. 2:1-2, “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.”

2 Chron. 7:14, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

Ezra 8:23, “So we fasted and entreated our God for this, and He answered our prayer.”

Jer. 18:7-8, “The instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, to pull down, and to destroy it, if that nation against whom I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring upon it.”

Dan. 9:3, “Then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes.”

Deut. 7:9, “Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments.”

Matt 18:19-20, “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
